Sarah Hopwood

Director, Programs and Education

Sarah is the director of programs and education at Stanford Impact Labs. She leads the design and delivery of Stanford Impact Labs’ education programs, working with faculty, post-docs and students to promote and build capacity for implementing social impact research in partnership with policy makers and practitioners.

Sarah’s expertise spans policy, research, program design and implementation. Prior to Stanford Impact Labs, she was a Senior Associate at the Busara Center in Kenya, a research consultancy working with partners from governments, NGOs and the private sector across Africa, Asia and the Pacific. She was also previously the Innovation Manager at Young 1ove, where she designed and evaluated health and education programs in Botswana. Sarah started her career working for the UK Government, focused on policy development within the Department of Health and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge and a Master's degree from Brown University. Outside of work, Sarah can be found running through forests and cuddling her cats.
