This summer I will be working with MediaWise, a non-profit journalism organization, to study the extent to which a digital media literacy intervention for seniors can help people better discern true from false news online. We completed a preliminary study of the intervention in fall 2020 and, over the summer summer, I will continue working with MediaWise to update the content of the interventions as well as with survey firm YouGov to plan our follow-up study, which will be a proper randomized experiment on a nationally representative sample and will include a variety of short and long-term efficacy measures.
