Pascaline Dupas
Pascaline Dupas is an associate director of Stanford Impact Labs where she provides overall leadership and strategic guidance, with a special focus on issues of scientific integrity and impact. She is a development economist seeking to better understand challenges poor households in lower-income countries face. Her aim is to identify tools and policies to overcome these challenges and reduce global poverty. Her ongoing research includes studies of education policy in Ghana, family planning policy in Burkina Faso, digital credit regulation in Malawi, and government subsidized health insurance in India, among others.
She is a professor in Stanford University’s Department of Economics, faculty director for the Stanford King Center on Global Development, and a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. She collaborates on her research with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution, and the Center for Effective Global Action among others.
