2021 Summer Fellow

Hi, I’m Carrie Townley-Flores. This summer I will be working with the New York State Education Department to support students’ recovery from the pandemic and to improve educational equity across the state. I’ll be mapping trends in educational opportunities and racial/ethnic and economic inequalities across the state and support grants to turn rich, student-level, longitudinal data into articles and reports that will be immediately useful to the NY State Education Department in evaluating opportunities to support recovery and improve equity. This project is part of my portfolio of research- practice partnerships in which I research educational inequality alongside practitioners and policy-makers to answer their most pressing questions, both to serve students in their communities in real time and to contribute what we learn to the field of education policy.
